Alty are now a well-established side in the National League, gaining promotion from the north in 2020 via the playoffs.
The hosts are in strong form heading into Saturday, picking up 7pts in their last three games, while keeping a clean sheet in all of them.
It will be the first meeting between Brackley and Altrincham in over 6 years. Last time out, it ended in a 1-0 victory for the Saints, where a first half goal from Shane Byrne would decide the tie.
Following a strong start, it would be a poor run of games at the end of the 24/25 season which saw Altrincham fall just behind the pack, finishing 4pts short of the playoff places.
Key Players:
With 6 goals and 2 assists, Saints fans should look out for danger man Jimmy Knowles, the 24-year-old arrived in the summer from League Two side Accrington Stanley. Known for his electric form at Boston United, the striker would win the National League North playoffs at St James’ Park in 2024 following a 19 goal season for the Pilgrims.
Furthermore, right back Lewis Banks will be testing the Brackley goal from all angles, though primarily a defender, the Stoke-born player has an eye for goal, scoring or assisting 12 times for the Robins since his return from Ireland. Whilst playing in the Emerald Isle, Banks would gain invaluable European experience for Sligo Rovers.
The Man in Charge:
Alty are currently without a permanent Manager, following the dismissal of Phil Parkinson on the 23rd of October. Therefore, interim manager Neil Gibson will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce for the hosts.
Previously at Wealdstone, Gibson would guide them to safety on the last day of the season, the Stones had been sitting in the relegation zone prior to his arrival. However he would step down from management in the summer, due to travel commitments to the North Londoners.
