A mixture of trailist’s and first-team regulars took to the artificial surface that City have, and it was a slow start from both sides, with the first goalmouth action not recorded until Oxford City took the lead on 13 minutes.
A loose ball in the Brackley Town area was picked up by Lewis Coyle who with the Brackley defence giving him time to line up a shot smashed the ball past Danny Lewis in the Saints goal.
Lewis again had to save his side twice in the 33rd and 34th minute before the Saints managed to get a foothold in the game.
Fabio Lopes was fouled just outside the box, and from the resulting free-kick Trialist A fired in a shot, but it was well held by the ‘keeper.
Right on half time, Lopes crossed from deep finding Wes York free at the far post to place a diving header past the City Goalkeeper into the far corner to level the scores.
Much of the second half was disrupted by substitutions, and both sides in the most part cancelled each other out.
New Signing Callum Stead did well to reach a cross, but the ball was cleared in the 65th minute, before another cross a minute later again found Stead’s head but went narrowly wide.
Both sides will take positives from today's match, it gives valuable minutes to both sides as they get ready for the season which starts two weeks today.
