MATCH PREVIEW:
A National League staple, Woking are unbeaten in 8, scoring 13 in the process. The Cards have spent 27 seasons out of 30 in the Non-League topflight.
Saturday’s 3pm kick-off will be the third time Brackley have faced Woking, with the previous two clashes coming this season in the FA Cup. A draw at Kingfield Stadium would be the polar opposite at St James Park, with the Saints thrashing Woking 6-2 to really kick off their FA Cup Campaign.
Gavin Cowan’s men will look to replicate their Cup heroics in the league, aiming to build on Saturdays performance against York, turning it into a win and building momentum for their Monday Night Emirates FA Cup clash against Burton Albion.
Key Players:
Between the sticks is Will Jääskeläinen, son of former Bolton stopper Jussi. In 24/25, Jääskeläinen won Woking’s Players player of the season and a host of other accolades for his sensational season guarding the Cards goal.
Commanding from the middle of the park is maestro Harry Beautyman. The midfielder has boatloads of National League experience, winning the league in 2020 with Sutton United. That same year he was nominated in the team of the season.
The Man in Charge:
Neil Ardley has been in charge of Woking since December 2024, prior to his appointment, they would be just one point above the relegation zone. They would slowly climb up the National League table, finishing 15th and reaching the semi-final of the FA Trophy. A controversial decision at bitter rivals Aldershot extended the cards 28-year trophy drought for another season.
Ardley, a former Wimbledon hero as a player and manager has been in and out the football league since his departure from the Dons. With over 600 games under his belt, Ardley has plenty of aces up his sleeve to counter Gavin Cowan’s tactics.
