After Saturday’s FA trophy win at Stafford Rangers, it is a return to National League North action with back-to-back away trips to Tamworth and Alfreton. We travel to Tamworth in another midweek game on Tuesday evening, kick-off 7.45pm.
Newly promoted Tamworth have taken the division by storm and sit in first place despite a recent dip that has seen three defeats in four games. However, home form on the artificial surface has been imperious with six straight wins and conceding just a single goal in those six games before defeat at the hands of Banbury United.
The win at Stafford Rangers saw Saints through to the 3rd round of the Trophy while The Lambs went out at Billericay on a day that saw no fewer than 14 NLN sides exit the competition. The win followed last Tuesday evening’s defeat of Gloucester City at St James Park.
