Rangers play in the NPL Premier Division and currently sit bottom with two wins so far. They lost 5-0 at high-flying Worksop Town in their midweek game. Saints beat Gloucester City on Tuesday evening, moving into 9th place with a first win in five games.
Rangers’ last home league win came in August when FC United of Manchester were the visitors to their Marston Road ground.
Stafford beat Quorn AFC and Sporting Khalsa in two thrilling ties to reach the 2nd round, with no fewer than 13 goals hitting the net in the two ties. Saints join the competition at this stage, a competition that they won at Wembley in 2018.
Rangers have their own proud history in the competition, winning it twice in the 1970’s. The last time they reached this stage of the competition was 2007 when they went out in a 3rd round replay against Tamworth
