NEXT UP: BOSTON UNITED v BRACKLEY TOWN - VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH

Chris Tymon3 Apr 2024 - 19:00

We travel to Boston United on Saturday (kick-off: 3pm) as the National League North season reaches its climax.

Gavin Cowan’s side comes into the game after a convincing win over champions-elect Tamworth on Easter Monday and with three games remaining continue to push to finish as high up the table as possible.

Following the trip to The Jakemans Community Stadium, Chester will come to St James Park before the scheduled season concludes with the long haul to Blyth Spartans.

Boston lost on Monday at relegation-threatened Rushall Olympic but this follows an unbeaten run of three wins and three draws that has taken The Pilgrims into the play-off places. The run included three clean-sheets and the 7-3 win over Gloucester City. Boston will have three games remaining after Brackley’s visit, with a home game against Scarborough Athletic and away trips to Banbury and Hereford.

Reflecting after Monday’s win over Tamworth Gavin Cowan was only looking ahead: “The players are fully focused on each game as it comes and need to recover and prepare well now for what will be an extremely difficult game at Boston. Both teams are up there and we need to secure our play-off place and finish as high as we can.”

When the sides met at SJP in December Brackley’s scorers were Zak Lilly and Morgan Roberts in a 2-1 win.
