Brackley Town are delighted to announce the signing of striker Dan Turner for an undisclosed fee from Leamington.

Turner will be no stranger to Brackley Town supporters as he has faced the Saints a few times over the last few seasons in the National League North and has always been a handful.

Brackley Town manager Gavin Cowan had to say about his latest signing “Dan is a natural finisher who is not only blessed with a high level of technical ability, he understands the other side of the game also. He’s one I’ve been an admirer of for some time and know that he will flourish with us having scored lots of goals at this level these past two seasons.”

He scored 13 goals in 36 league appearances for the Brakes last season, having also missed ten games through injury. In the 21/22 season, he scored 12 in 38 league appearances, He also scored in the final of the Birmingham Senior Cup as the Brakes won the trophy with a 3–1 win over Stourbridge at Villa Park

Dan began his career as a youth team scholar at Port Vale and he made his EFL debut in April 2016, coming on as a substitute in a 4-1 win over Rochdale.

In September 2016, he joined Northern Premier League Division One South club Kidsgrove Athletic on a one-month loan. The following day he scored two goals on his debut for the "Grove" in a 5–0 home win over Chasetown. He scored another two goals in his next league appearance, a 4–3 home defeat to Bedworth United.

He scored his first goal for Port Vale with a header in a 3–1 win at Crawley Town on 5 August and later had further loans at Tamworth and Falkirk before joining Hyde United permanently in August 2019 where he scored nine goals in 28 games for the Tigers. He then joined Matlock Town but the season was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic just 2 weeks after signing.

In June 2020, Turner signed with Southern League Premier Division Central side Hednesford Town. He scored five goals in 12 games for the "Pitmen" before the 2020–21 season was paused due to the ongoing pandemic. He left Hednesford to sign with Leamington of the National League North on January 2021. He scored a penalty on his debut later that day in a 2–1 victory at Chorley.

Dan now becomes a Saint, looking to continue his fine goalscoring form at St James Park.

Welcome to St James Park Dan!
