Roberts makes the move to St James Park ahead of the start of the 2026/27 National League North campaign, adding another attacking option to Andy Whing's squad.

The Crewe Alexandra youngster already has experience at this level following a successful spell with Chester, initially joining the Seals on loan in early 2025.

Roberts made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut away at Scarborough Athletic before finding the net again a week later to secure a 1-0 victory at Peterborough Sports. He played an important role as Chester put together a seven-game winning run during January and early February.

He later returned to Chester on a season-long loan, gaining further senior experience in the National League North.

Prior to joining Crewe Alexandra, Roberts impressed during a loan spell with Beckenham Town in the Isthmian League during the 2023/24 campaign, finishing the season as the club's leading goalscorer. His performances earned him the opportunity to make the step into the professional game with Crewe.

Roberts now links up with the Saints as Andy Whing puts the finishing touches to his squad ahead of tomorrow's season opener at AFC Telford United.

Roberts joins Brackley Town on loan from Crewe Alexandra, subject to the necessary approval from the National League and The Football Association.
