Brackley Town is delighted to announce that midfielder Shane Byrne has signed a new contract, extending his stay at St. James Park ahead of the 2025/26 season.

A key figure in last season’s remarkable title-winning campaign, Shane played an instrumental role in helping the Saints lift the National League North trophy. His leadership, composure on the ball, and wealth of experience were vital throughout the season as Brackley secured promotion to the National League for the first time in the club’s history.

Gavin Cowan said: “It’s testament to Shane that he has signed having other offers on the table. He’s a leader, a winner and loves playing for this football club. Shane understands and believes in how we want to do things and knows that we now have new targets to reach and he wants to be a part of that!”

Having re-joined the Saints from Kidderminster Harriers last Summer, Shane has now made over 240 Brackley Town appearances and scored 40 goals, he's a firm fan favourite at St James Park. His new deal reflects the club’s ambition to build on last season’s success and compete strongly in the National League.

With preparations underway for the upcoming campaign, Byrne’s commitment is another positive step as Brackley Town gear up for life at the next level.
