Match Preview: Brackley Town v Kidderminster Harriers - Vanarama National League North Promotion Final - Sunday 14th May

Chris Tymon13 May 2023 - 21:00

Sunday’s dramatic win in the play-off semi-final game at Chester sets up the Promotion Final at St James Park on Sunday with a 3.30pm kick-off.

Since joining Step 2 this is Brackley’s third Promotion Final following ties against FC Halifax in 2013 and Harrogate Town in 2018 and will see St James Park’s record attendance of over 3000. All tickets were snapped up in 48 hours.

Saints arrive in the final after eliminator wins against Gloucester City and Chester. Kidderminster finished the season in 6th place level on points with Brackley and as the form team with six successive league wins conceding only once. They win at Alfreton in the eliminator before emerging victorious at King’s Lynn Town in the semi-final.
The sides have met twice this season with Saints winning 2-0 in the home game in late August, Jimmy Armson and Wes York the scorers, and again at Aggborough in February through goals from Sam Smart and Callum Stead.

Speaking ahead of the game Gaz Dean said, “They are in a really good place. Russ [Penn] has done a really good job to get them into the play-offs. It is two teams entering the final in red hot form and it should lead to a good game. It is one we will look forward to.

The game is all ticket and sold out. There are no ticket sales on match-day. The game is segregated and supporters are asked to arrive in good time to avoid queues at the turnstiles where all supporters will be searched upon entry. There is no parking at the ground as all spaces have been allocated.

A club spokesperson said, “We remind all supporters that at St James Park there is zero tolerance of misconduct including discriminatory chanting of any kind, throwing of objects, entering the field of play at any time and carrying or using pyrotechnics of any kind. All of these are criminal acts. Action will be taken against anybody breaking the ground regulations. We look forward to an afternoon when all supporters can enjoy the game in the right atmosphere.”

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS GAME IS SOLD OUT AND NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE DAY:

Entry to turnstiles for both sets of supporters will open at 12:00pm.

We remind supporters that it is a criminal offence to enter the pitch and doing so, may result in a criminal record and stadium bans. It also creates a significant safety issue not only for themselves but for fellow supporters, Club players, staff and match officials.

Sunday will be a fantastic occasion for both sets of supporters and we’d like to thank fans for their support this season.

PLEASE STAY OFF THE PITCH:
After the match, both sets of players will want to show their appreciation to their supporters but won't be able to do this if supporters are on the pitch:

Please stay off the pitch and show your support from the stands, we really appreciate it.
