Defender Preston signs on loan

The Saints have added a central defender to their ranks with the signing of the experienced Matt Preston.

The 28-year-old has signed a loan deal until the end of the season and is available for Saturday's trip to Spennymoor Town.

Preston has a wealth of EFL experience making over 100 appearances for the likes of Walsall, Swindon Town, and Mansfield Town.

Matt moved to Barnet in October 2020 before joining the Moors in July 2021. He had a successful loan period at fellow National League North side Kidderminster Harriers last season and played a big part in their FA Cup run. He played in the Harriers’ 4th round FA Cup tie against West Ham United, where he was awarded the BBC Man of the Match award.

Unfortunately, Preston’s loan spell was cut short after receiving a serious ankle injury from a tackle against Alfreton Town.
