A firm fans’ favourite at St James Park, Matt Lowe continues his journey with the club into another campaign as preparations continue for the next chapter.

Lowe first joined Brackley Town in August 2016, initially arriving on loan from Cambridge United before completing a permanent transfer that began a hugely successful six-year first spell with the Saints.

Following a spell with Accrington Stanley between 2022 and 2024, Lowe returned to Brackley Town in July 2024 and has continued to play an important role both on and off the pitch.

Approaching 400 appearances for the club and with 68 goals to his name, Lowe’s commitment, versatility and passion for the badge have made him one of the club’s most popular figures in recent years.

Speaking after signing for the 2026/27 season, Matt said:

“For a club that’s given me so much, I couldn’t let my journey end with relegation.
Ultimately, we all have to do better, and I’m determined to help put things right this season. Excited for what’s ahead.”

Manager Andy Whing added:

“I’m delighted to announce that Lowey has committed to another season with us.

He’s a fantastic lad and has been a great servant to the football club and possesses all the qualities we need in various positions for us to be successful.”

Matt Lowe becomes an important part of the squad committed to the Saints ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
