Manager Andy Whing begins shaping his squad ahead of the new season following important summer discussions
Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, Andy Whing has held detailed conversations with all members of the Brackley Town first-team squad as preparations begin for the upcoming campaign.
The club recognises that supporters have been eager for clarity regarding player movements, particularly following relegation and a clear shift in direction as the manager looks to build a squad aligned with his preferred style of play. With those discussions now complete, the time is right to provide an update.
As is often the case at this level, the majority of players reach the end of their contracts each summer. This allows both the club and players to reflect and make decisions that are right for their respective futures. While this can create a period of uncertainty, it also provides an opportunity to reshape and rebuild.
Supporters will have already seen announcements from striker Connor Hall and vice-captain Shane Byrne confirming their departures. The club would like to place on record its thanks to both players for their outstanding contributions.
Connor made 115 appearances in a Saints shirt, scoring 39 goals, including a memorable hat-trick on his debut against Banbury United. Shane departs after an incredible 315 appearances across two spells and seven seasons, scoring 46 goals and playing a key leadership role both on and off the pitch.
