Following yesterday's National League announcement, Brackley Town are delighted to confirm our participation in this seasons National League Cup.
The competition will involve 16 Premier League 2 teams and 16 National League teams. Four group games will see group winners and group runners-up progress to the knock-out quarter-final, semi-final and final stages. Last season Leeds United U21 won the final against Sutton United.
We have been paired in a regionalised group with PL2 teams Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers and fellow National League teams Braintree, Forest Green Rovers and Wealdstone.
PL2 teams comprise U21 players and up to four over-age players. Our group games will see the four PL2 teams visiting SJP starting with Nottingham Forest U21 in the week beginning 11 August. The competition provides further opportunities for supporters to get behind the team, to see exciting cup football in the early months of the season given that we will enter both the FA Cup and FA Trophy two rounds later this season and to watch future PL players in action at SJP.
Ticket details will be announced soon.
