I want to begin by saying sorry. Sorry for this run of form we’ve been on, and sorry that we haven’t been able to win games.
I am hurting, as I’m sure you all are too. This means a lot to me and Craig. I am gutted that things haven’t gone our way. We have no one else to blame but ourselves. We could try and say that luck hasn’t gone our way – but you make your own luck in this game.
I want to thank you for your support, for backing the players despite us not being able to get the results on the pitch for you. We all know and understand the challenges we face as a club, competing at this level, but we have to do better for you, and for ourselves. This run hasn’t been acceptable and it needs to end here.
There are four league games left this season and I want as many points as possible, starting against Boston United. We want to be competitive. We will do everything possible to keep this club in the National League, and to finish the season with momentum.
The least you can expect and the least we will deliver in these four games, is a team that will give everything they have. I believe we can make it harder for teams, and I believe that win is around the corner for us.
I’ve never experienced anything like this as a manager. I have spent a long time looking at how we can improve short-term and longer-term. Please know that we are looking at everything we can do to be the best version of ourselves.
I can’t thank the club enough for their support, from the owner and board, to the staff and the players, and you the supporters. This is a special club, with people who care deeply and dedicate their lives to the cause. I don’t want to let them down, I don’t want to let you down.
All I can hope is that you continue to back the players, give them your energy as you have done, and we will do everything we can to turn this around.
I want this to work. I will not stop trying. I am proud to be the manager of this club and I want to deliver success for you.
Talk is cheap though. Now it is time for action.
Thank you for your support and your patience. See you tomorrow.
