It was again a tale of what might of been away at Chorley on Tuesday evening.
Twice in the first half the post denied Brackley a first half lead and then the Saints were dealt a killer blow with Chorley grabbing a goal in each half somewhat against the run of play.
The first half started well with Matt Lowe seeing his shot pushed onto the bar by Urwin in the Chorley goal on nine minutes - Lowe again causing problems down the right flank.
Shane Byrne was then also foiled by the Magpie’s ‘keeper as he headed against the post from a corner, Urwin again getting a vital touch.
A third clear chance was to fall for the Saints before the half hour when a Lowe header was cleared off the line.
With their first shot on target Chorley took the lead when Carver found himself in the right place to tap home and put Chorley 1-0 up at half time.
Chorley then had something to hold onto and managed the match and in the 64th minute were awarded a penalty after Wilson was fouled. Blakeman scored the resulting penalty to make it 2-0.
Although Lowe again went close with a quarter of an hour left with a cross shot, Brackley could not find a way past the Chorley back line and suffered their first loss in the league in 2019.
