Altrincham 1-2 Brackley Town 16/4/19
Last gasp drama so sweet
Brackley came from behind to win a vital top of the table tussle through an added time own goal to remain in third place in National League North with Altrincham missing the chance to leap-frog Saints.
“I am absolutely delighted with the win,” Kevin Wilkin said. “We have two evenly matched sides, both extremely capable on their day. I felt we were unfortunate to fall behind in the first half and then had that bit of good fortune right at the end. But we stayed strong together, showed courage and created a terrific moment to score an excellent equaliser. It was a good game for the neutrals to watch. It was a great night and the win keeps it interesting going into the Easter weekend.”

Spennymoor Town 2-1 Brackley Town 13/4/19
Taylor-made for Moors
On the day league leaders Stockport and second-placed Chorley both slipped up, it was the chasing pack behind Brackley that took advantage as third-placed Saints went down to only a second defeat in 17 games at fourth-placed Spennymoor.
A goal each at the end of an otherwise barren first half sent the sides in level at the break. Playing down the considerable slope in the second period Saints came out the stronger creating scoring opportunities and all looked set for Kevin Wilkin’s side to go on to seal what would have been an invaluable away win at the start of this crucial Easter period of four games in ten days. But it was not to be as chances were spurned only for the division’s leading scorer Glen Taylor to find the corner of Danny Lewis’ goal with a quarter of an hour remaining, a clinical finish to seal only a second win in nine games for Moors who moved level on points with the visitors in a tight race at the top that just got even tighter.

Brackley Town 2-0 Guiseley 6/4/19
Byrne strike sends Saints on their way
A goal late in the first half set Brackley on their way to a comfortable win over Guiseley to leave the visitors still on the fringe of the relegation places and Saints on course for a play-off spot.
“I am delighted with the win,” Kevin Wilkin said. “It’s another game when we had to grind the result out. We weren’t as fluent in the first half as we have been in recent weeks but we took the lead and gained a cushion. We probably should have scored more goals but another clean sheet is good.”
