York City  1-0  Brackley Town   10/8/19

Solitary goal condemns Saints to second defeat

Andy Bond’s 55th minute long range effort that crept in off the post was the defining moment of an intensely competitive but ultimately fruitless game for Brackley at York’s Bootham Crescent.  The win sent City top of the embryonic National League North table leaving Saints with one win from the opening three fixtures of the new season.

The home side enjoyed the better of things but Saints remained steadfast in their task and almost grabbed an added time equaliser at the end of the game as Glenn Walker was foiled in a goalmouth scramble.

Leamington 2 - 0  Brackley Town    6/8/19

Leamington ran out deserved winners on a disappointing evening for Kevin Wilkin’s side, a goal in each half settling the destination of the three points.

Brackley Town  1-0  Alfreton Town   3/8/19

Opening day cheer for Saints

Shepherd Murombedzi’s late goal settled a tight opening day affair with Alfreton Town the visitors to St James Park.  Neither side achieved any great fluency in a hard fought game and a goal-less outcome appeared on the cards until Murombedzi’s fierce strike took all three points for the Saints.

Stratford Town 0 Brackley Town 2 (Dean, Holman)

A goal in the first 5 minutes and one with virtually the last kick of the game gave Brackley a deserved win against a strong Stratford Town team.

The Saints looked on good form from the first minute with Carl Baker having his shot saved prior to Gareth Dean opening the scoring on five minutes taking the ball down from a Shane Byrne corner and drilling the ball past the keeper to put Brackley one up.
