Super Saints are worthy winners

Brackley capped off a busy week of three away games with another win in a hard fought and physical encounter at Guiseley, the points secured through second half goals from Glenn Walker and Lee Ndlovu.

Farsley Celtic  1-1   Brackley Town      3 Dec 2019

Late strike earns valuable away point

Lee Ndlovu’s late strike earned Kevin Wilkin’s side an important draw in a first ever trip to Farsley Celtic that moves them into fifth place in the league table as Celtic stay eighth.  It was nothing more than Saints deserved having enjoyed the better of possession and goal chances and was due reward for a resilient away performance.

The hosts went ahead in the 20th minute through Jimmy Spencer’s smartly taken goal.  Saints had already had the ball in the net, ruled out for a foul on keeper Kyle Trenerry, before Gaz Dean’s header was cleared off the line from a corner and Lee Ndlovu was dismayed as a second “goal” was disallowed for a foul.  Wes York’s effort clipped the bar when the striker might have hit the target before Danny Lewis was called into action to keep Celtic out on the stroke of half-time.

Twice Wes York’s darting runs to the byline brought danger but Celtic survived until the 90th minute when Ndlovu finished decisively after Ellis Myles had played the ball into the penalty area, the striker in confident form with six goals in the last three league games.

Blyth Spartans  0-6  Brackley Town      30 Nov 2019

Blyth hit for six

A first away league fixture in six weeks brought a handsome win for Kevin Wilkin’s side by a margin of six goals.  The score-line did not flatter Saints who created chances aplenty to have won by more.
