Memories - Saints on tour 2
The Saints Community Project on Tour week 2 ......
After our devastating fire in our clubhouse two weeks ago we were homeless and unfortunately our perishable stocks of refreshments, beverages, cakes and biscuits were all destroyed and were able to seek refuge and very generously catered for at the flag.
This week with our big girl pants on we rented Egerton hall and tried to bring our group back to as much normality and stability as we could.
The most amazing thing happened in that we had a message from a lady called Sarah Yates who offered us some homemade cakes. This amazing stranger who I had never met turned up with the most amazing selection and array of cakes for everyone. They really were the most amazing cakes and everyone commented on this and an absolute gem to have such an amazing local business in our town .
The absolute complete kindness of this act is totally humbling and to count our blessings as to the people that make the community we live in.
Offering to help set up and ensuring we had all we needed for this weeks meeting. It really is the people of this town that make it a pretty amazing place. Your act of kindness totally rocked our world today thank you so so much !
This group is so important to so many that attend from our town. It brings people together to help prevent isolation and loneliness and for those that are vulnerable in our town. This project is always open to everyone.
For some it’s the only time they get a cooked meal and get to eat in company, for some it’s quite often during the winter months, the only time they get out of their house. Not to mention the social side of catching up with friends and to have a chat, as well as the comfort to family members they are out and socialising and creating memories and often havingn.
A huge thank you to all our volunteers that rock up every week and duck and dive the chaos and challenges to make this such an amazing group.
If you need cakes making of any kind then please consider Sarah Cakes by Yates you will not be disappointed and you would be supporting an amazing lady and local business.
The weeks of 10/7, 17/7 and 24/ 7 we have rented Egerton hall for our project and will then review our plans over the coming week.
