Wednesday’s away win at Darlington took Saints back up to fourth in the National League North table and sets Kevin Wilkin’s side up neatly for Saturday’s FA Trophy quarter-final clash at St James Park with National League Leyton Orient.

Kevin Wilkin takes his team on another long distance midweek trip on Wednesday as Saints play a re-arranged National League North fixture against Darlington.

On Saturday (16th February) we welcome Curzon Ashton FC to St James’ Park, travelling the 150 miles down the M6 from Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester. This will be a tough game; the Nash as they are fondly known, will arrive with confidence following a consecutive run of 8 unbeaten league and cup games since Christmas, the most recent match last week-end at home against  Alfreton which they won 3 -2.

On Tuesday (12th February) we travel to Victoria Park to face top of the league Chorley, with the opportunity to consolidate our position in the play-off places and reduce the gap between the two teams. When we met earlier in the season, at St James’ Park, it was a 2-2 draw with Conner Franklin and Lee Ndlovu getting the Brackley goals. Chorley FC, known as the Magpies, occupy the top spot with 57 points from 28 games, although they lost on Saturday away to Southport, finishing 5-3, despite an Alex Newby hat-trick. Chorley trailed 4-1 at half time and faced an uphill struggle second half.
