Brackley Town u16's v Oxford City u16's

Brackley hosted our closest rivals today at Soulden hill on a cold blustery morning, with the rain coming down to dampen the pitch can set the scene for what turned out to be a fantastic day for Brackley. Oxford are sitting much higher in the table than us at present but it

was Brackley that showed the intent early on. Both sides did find the conditions hard to deal with but Brackley had the better of it with some good early chances testing the keeper. Hayden Durrant opened the account inside 10 mins with an absolute belter from outside the box creating it for himself with some nifty footwork to fire into the top corner to give Brackley a well deserved lead. With their tails up Brackley continued to dominate with Oxford finding it hard to break through Brackley's good discipline, shape & rear guard. It was Brackley that scored again just before HT when Luca pressed hard on their keeper/defender & his work paid off as it fell kindly for him to finish off & give Brackley the 2-0 cushion they deserved. HT 2-0

Oxford kicked off the 2nd half & looked to be a bit more organised with spaces opening up for them in the middle of the park as Brackley's shape was not so good as it was in the first half. Oxford could of pulled one back but fortunately it fizzed wide & the chance had gone. Brackley had worked so hard on & off the ball & now sitting a little deeper inviting Oxford on & counter attacking at every given opportunity. It was from this a free kick was awarded to us just outside the box. Alfie Dunn took the free kick only for the keeper to parry out into the path of Robbie Heath who followed it in to drill home to cement a commanding 3-0 lead. Eniola made it 4-0 shortly after to put the tie to bed. Oxford however could of crumbled but full credit to them as they managed to get a consolation goal late on with some good play in & around the box before firing home past the outstretched  keeper. Our game management was really good & with the game petering out at 4-1 it was Brackley's boys who throughly deserved the win & a superb team performance to boot from start to finish. Well done lads, blinding today keep this up please.!!!!
