Brackley Town march on into the Semi Final of the county cup with a superb display away at Moulton Magpies. An eagerly awaited QF match was played under the lights on a 3G surface at Molton FC with Brackley showing their intent right from the outset. Brackley were knocking the ball around & enjoying the lion share of possession early on. Brackley took the lead inside 5 mins when Lucas Northover scored an absolute screamer from outside of the box giving their keeper no chance as he could only watch the ball hit the back of his net

with his feet firmly rooted to the spot. Brackley continued to enjoy the playing surface & looked likely to add to there account as chances came & went. Moulton did however have a couple of chances themselves but Brackley's rear guard were having none of it. Brackley should of been out of sight but Moulton were not out of this at 1-0 as the ref blew for HT.

The 2nd half was as good as the first with Brackley playing some terrific football but couldn't put the tie to bed as we struggled to find that all important 2nd goal. The longer the game went on at 1-0 Moulten were growing in confidence & you could sense they were not out of it. Brackley defended tremendously well from front to back & whatever Moulton threw at us we were not ready to relinquish the lead. The boys defended with real desire, grit & determination to see the job through & although Moulten pressed us quicker & higher up the pitch Brackley didn't panic, we were composed to play out from the back & carve our way out & we did this brilliantly. When the ref finally blew the whistle to give us victory we were full of pride, our boys were fantastic in all aspects tonight & fully deserved to go through to the last 4 of the County Cup on 3rd March.
