It is almost five months now since that dreadful night in June when the clubhouse was destroyed by fire.  We appreciate the patience of everyone associated with the club.  It has been a frustrating time for all of us and we understand how difficult recent months have been for supporters.  We are committed to keeping supporters fully informed of progress.

A meeting with our Loss Accessors was held last week regarding our claim. We were told that they hope to be in a position by mid-December finally to put in an insurance claim on our behalf.  Detailed negotiations will then begin with the Insurance Company’s Loss Adjuster with an anticipated outcome by mid-January.  At this point we would hope to know how much the club will receive to pay for a re-build.

Because of the complexities of the way the insurance industry works, we fully expect that the pay-out will not be as much as we had originally believed we were insured for.  This is why the Stand Together Campaign was formed to raise additional funds to plug some of the likely shortfall but also to investigate grants from a variety of funding bodies.

So our hopes of having plans for a new clubhouse drawn up by now together with the appropriate planning permission in place have been put back until we have a clearer idea about the money will have available to fund construction.  However, we continue to progress outline design work for a clubhouse and are allocating some funds to enable an early start to be made on as much infrastructure as possible.  We hope that this may allow part of a new building to be brought into use as a clubhouse and function room ahead of the full completion of the project.  We hope that supporters will appreciate the complexity of this and will understand that it remains the uncertainty as to the funds we will have available that is holding up progress.

Our greatest wish is to have a clubhouse facility back in use as soon as possible for the benefit of supporters and for the use of the wider Brackley community.  It seems likely however that the new clubhouse will not be ready until after the start of the new season in 2020.

The most optimistic forecast would be that the insurance pay-out is settled early in the New Year allowing construction to start in March.  It is disappointing not to be able to bring supporters more hopeful news.  We are feeling the pain and frustration as much as everyone.

Efforts continue to develop facilities elsewhere around the ground and the new, covered terracing, new stands and additional toilets will be in use very soon.  We have plans to allow fans to use the Cabin after a match.  Clearly there will be limitations as to what is possible due to the size of the building but listen out for announcements shortly on this.

The long term vision for the club is ambitious and bold.  In the short term we must stand together to overcome these difficulties and come through them all the stronger.

Thank you for your continued support.
