Caterpillar Juniors vs Brackley Town Under 15's

Full of confidence we travelled to Leicester to Caterpillar (the diggers) huge site to take on Caterpillar juniors in the second league game of the season. The team welcomed back Joe Donahue from injury and Lance Ernesta joined the squad for his first appearance in a Brackley shirt.

After a bit of a slow start the squad conceded a goal taking us 1-0 down. With end to end play the first half ended with Caterpillars having had the best of the chances.

The half time talk was about stepping up another 10% and making our touches count, this was taken on board and the second half was a different game. Bradley Cheshire scored to bring us back on level terms 1-1. The defence had a tough job with Charlie Jefferies upping his game to win everything in the air. An outstanding individual performance see Lance Ernesta take on caterpillars defence to score our second goal putting us in the lead, a great goal and a great team celebration showing how bonded the squad are.

With the dying moments of the game upon the boys an incoming corner kick was saved and we waited for the final whistle, the whistle was not the one we wanted with the ref indicating a penalty against Brackley. Caterpillars tucked it away top corner giving Harry Francis-Jones no chance despite him making some outstanding saves during open play. Despite taking a point and ending the game 2-2 the game was as much about keeping composure at the end, particularly as video footage showed no foul in the box.

Onwards and upwards boys we still took a point!
