Tournament report:-

On a boiling hot late summers day at Clanfield FC our two under 8 teams, The Lions and The Tigers took part in their first tournament day of the season. Both teams with limited numbers available acquitted themselves really well over the four games they both played in. The Lions competing against Charlbury, Vikings Pirates, Chadlington and Carterton Town in The Spitfire Division. The Tigers competing against Moreton Rangers, Vikings, Easington Sports and Banbury Irish in The Lancaster Division.

All the games were well contested with both sides playing some really good attacking football with some great goals and good saves by our goalkeepers. If there's one side of the game both sides need to work on it's their defensive decision making. We moved the ball well through the thirds and got plenty of shots away but when we lost the ball we were vulnerable at the back. The coaches and the boys love to play attacking football, we just need to spend a bit more time on our defending!

All in all a great days football from the boys with our parents enjoying what could be the last of this years warm weather watching their young players enjoying themselves. It'll be warm coats, hats and gloves at the next tournament day in November/December!
