On 24th February 2011 Brackley Town Saints played Banbury United youth Spencer in the under 9’s league. The match was played at the Saints home ground at Juniper Hill football ground, the weather was clear, sunny and warm on this fine spring day.
The match kicked off at 10:00, with no game for some weeks all players present and chomping at the bit to get stuck in to a competitive game of football. The Saints kicked off and passed the ball forward to Rupert Gibbs who scored, driving the ball in to the back of the net. After the first goal in the first minute of the game Brackley Town Saints took advantage of Banbury United Youth Spencer’s shock in Towns good game play and in the tenth minute Rupert Gibbs scored his second goal.
In the second half The Saint’s came out with a determination to maintain their lead and win the game. Spencer after a few good passes breached The Saint’s defence and scored a goal. After this goal The Saint’s dug deep maintained a good defence and held Spencer to what is a well deserved Brackley Town Saints Win.

Hook Norton V Brackley Town Saints
On 15th October 2011 Brackley Town Saints played Hook Norton in the under 9’s league. The match was played away at Hook Norton sports and social club on what was a pleasant sunny day.
The match kicked off at 10:30, what was to be a very even game with both sides wanting those three points so they could move up the under 9’s White league table. The team started playing the game in a new formation, two in defence and four in mid-field with a hope that this will alter the style of the game play. After a quick start and within the first five minutes Tom Reed scored for the Saints after what was some classic football played by the team. The play started from the goal keeper and it seemed the ball was passed to every player before Tom firmly struck the ball into the back of the net.
In the Second half the Saint’s played a very assertive game, taking the play to the opposition with several shots at goal only to be saved by Hook Norton’s goal keeper. Early in the half Hook Norton scored an equalizer but this did not affect the teams resolve, the saints battled to the final whistle.
In a very even game the final score was Brackley Town Saints 1, Hook Norton 1. For getting involved, making good passes and tackling, The Saints girl of the match was Caitlin Porter.
In an interview after the game with Coach Paul Eagles he said that it was “the saints’ best game of the season”.

Brackley Town Saints V Middleton Cheney (CUP)
On 1st October 2011 Brackley Town Saints played Middleton Cheney in the under 9’s league knock out cup. The match was played at Brackley Town’s pitch at Juniper Hill on what was the hottest day ever recorded for October at 28oC.
The match kicked off at 10:30 and was to be an epic game in the first round of the cup. In first half the Saint’s defence worked hard pushing the ball forward but Middleton resisted their attacks with the saints only conceding one goal. During the remainder of the first half Middleton had several chances at goal but the Saints successfully defended their attacks.
In the second half the Saints and Middleton continued their end to end football with both teams creating breaks and chances to score. On a few occasions the persistent attacks by Middleton were successful in breaking through the Saints defensive line and scoring.
Both teams worked hard in the October heat wave but Middleton Cheney finally got the better of Brackley Town Saints with a final result of Brackley Town Saints 0 Middleton Cheney 5. For playing hard, putting in a hundred percent effort and emotion into the game the Saints man of the match was Zac Carter.
